Bruce Lund Receives Humanitarian Award PDF Print E-mail

November 20, 2009 - The Toy And Game Inventor Expo (TAGIE) honored Bruce Lund with the 2009 Humanitarian Award, for his 30 years of service inside and outside the toy industry, at a gala dinner on Friday, November 20, at Adler Planetarium in Chicago. The TAGIE Awards “celebrate the creativity, originality and summary of accomplishments of the creative minds and companies that keep us laughing, smiling and playing with new and exciting products and inventions,” according to TAGIE Executive Director, Mary Couzin.

“Bruce Lund has been a constant champion of the toy industry for more than three decades – and beyond that, he has supported and been involved in more than 20 charities in order to make a difference in the lives of others,” Mary commented.  “It is only fitting that he receive this award.”

Bruce Lund, Carlton Calvin of Razor Kick Off TAGIE! PDF Print E-mail

November 19, 2009 - Bruce Lund and Carlton Calvin, President and CEO of Razor USA, kicked off the 2009 Toy and Game Inventors Expo in Chicago with a rivoting and entertaining keynote on how they both got into the toy business and the current state of the industry.  The collaborative speech was very well received by the audience and created a lot buzz among attendees.  In fact, a handful of attendees that arrived late in the morning were told by other attendees how much they missed out on Bruce and Carlton's keynote!  The audience appreciated the joint perspective, offering both inventor and manufacturing insights.

Game of Life Inventor Visits Lund Studio PDF Print E-mail

November 19, 2009 - The famed Reuben Klamer, inventor of the Game of Life, now in its 50th year, stopped by the Lund studio on November 19, 2009, for a visit while in town to receive the Lifetiime Achievement Award at the annual Toy & Game Inventor Expo (TAGIE).  According to Bruce, "Our friendship goes back a long time and we are great admirers of each other's work. Reuben autographed a couple versions of his Game of Life for us and I autographed and gave him one of our TMX Elmos. I should blush at the superlatives he used in the notes he penned on the game boxes.   Turns out he thinks our TMX Elmo is the GREATEST TOY EVERY CREATED! Wow."
